John Howard: “‘Come on! Be in it!’ John pestered Dick Lester, who had never played cricket before. ‘John bowled with such force he hit my leg and nearly broke it in two,’ Lester later told me. I took these pictures in the middle of a dust storm. Even a shutter speed of one thousandth of a second was not fast enough to stop bowler John. It is Roy Kinnear, by the way, who is fielding with hands on hips.”
