Original caption: New York: And Don’t You Dare…As Beatles George Harrison, (left), and Ringo Starr blast out with the sounds, signs admonish the assembled Beatlemaniacs at Shea Stadium not to throw objects or cross the police line. Police did most of the throwing during the mop-topped quartet’s concert, as they threw out twelve fans for breaking through barricades.

Epstein said Lennon had been misinterpreted.
