She added those captions after I sent her a note about dewatermarking and reposting my scans. They didn’t used to be there. I have no time for her, really. She’s been blocked now.
Anonymous asked: Do you ever contact the people who do this and ask them for credit or ask where they got it? You never know, a blogger from another hosting site could come and crop your pics and repost them somewhere else and a Tumblr blogger could eventually come upon it and through no fault of their own, post it. I would feel like a complete ass by yanking someones scans. Why not just reblog? People have a lot of nerve! How often does this happen? I am very new here.
When I spot it, I send them an Ask. Usually I don’t get a reply back, but occasionally it turns out they got it from somewhere else and we’re fine and chummy again.
It happens every day I post scans, which is to say it happened every day. It’s alright if they pop up sometimes, and that’s fine and you sort of grouse a bit and ignore it because it doesn’t really matter, but it’s the fact that I kept seeing them pop up every single morning that really got on my nerves in the end.
Ah well. As has been pointed out to me “It’s the internet, what are you going to do about it?”

Anonymous asked: Good luck with your new site. My friend set up his own domain as a Zeppelin blog. He had to register it, find a host, and set it up so all search engines could find it. Took about a year but he finally got members and soon his photos were appearing in other places. Id love to set up my own URL but I neither have the money or time. I don't care for the fandom here either! Do what makes YOU happy. Blog for YOU. People will always be greedy & shady. Thanks for everything:)

My girlfriend had a domain already so I’m hosting it on there. It’ll take a while to set up properly but eventually it should turn into something. I quite like building things up anyway and adding detail as I go, so this is right up my alley.
But you’re welcome in any case. And you’re right, fandom should be about things that make you happy.

Its a immoral, rude, and an unethical thing to do but you can not steal something from someone that they do not own. Also, you have wisely placed the source on your scans. If someone posts your scans, your name is clearly on the pic. If its NOT there, consider they may have the same book, paper, or source as you! Sorry you are leaving. Best of luck

I never accuse someone who posts the same picture but unwatermarked of taking my scans. That would be crazy. When I notice people are scanning the same books I am, I tend to just skip to another one. It happens quite often and that’s fine. I also just tend to assume they either scanned it themselves or found it online somewhere, that’s fine.
These ones were obviously mine with my name photoshopped out of them. I compared them carefully. The person has admitted to doing it, but even if they hadn’t I would still have recognised the pictures (texture-wise, or because it had a crease in the corner or anything, but I tend to recognise my own scans.)
I’ve never claimed to own the photographs. It’s on my sidebar, it’s in my info post and I try to source as many pictures with the photographer’s name as I possibly can, because I care about credit where credit is due.
I’ve never seen anyone take my scans and repost them with that information. Ever. At all. For some reason tumblr doesn’t seem to find that sort of thing important. One of the reasons it’s important to me that my scans ARE sourced back to me is that they can keep that sort of information linked to the picture.
And you know, they’re still stealing my time and sanity away bit by tiny bit. Sometimes it’s easier just to cut the chord.
It’s been mostly a lovely run here on Tumblr and part of me was hoping that I’d sleep on it and come back, but I think this will be my final post here.
I’ve chosen a location elsewhere online to set up a little mini-Beatles archive. For anyone who wants a url just send me an Ask, I like to keep it free from idiots for a little while at least.
I did like most of you. It’s just a pity that it’s always the minority who ruin things for people.
I’ll leave my tumblr up as a … crumbling ruin, probably, but something to stay at least for anyone who wants to look something up. So for everyone who was worried, the site will stay, it’s just that I won’t.
My contract came through last night, as did a rent agreement for a lovely two-bedroom house. Onwards and upwards. If you’re in the Liverpool area, give me a shout and we’ll go out for drinks.
